Carter Lusher

Carter Lusher is Chief Analyst: Enterprise Applications Ecosystem and Research Fellow. Lusher is a member of Ovum’s software team, advising enterprise, government, and vendor clients. Carter takes a holistic approach to covering the enterprise application ecosystem, focusing on strategic issues and how mega-vendors impact enterprise IT decisions. In addition, Lusher coordinates Ovum’s vendor-focused research agenda, leads research for evaluating vendor R&D efforts and M&A activity, and acts as the Client Ombudsman for North America.

Lusher is a regular speaker at industry events and appears regularly in a variety of print, online, and broadcast media.

Carter brings a unique 360 degree view of the IT industry and industry analyst role, built over 30 years in IT. Lusher has been an enterprise IT manager and analyst client, award-winning Gartner Research Fellow, entrepreneur, “analyst of the analysts,” and vendor executive running analyst relations. Lusher has covered emerging technologies and has been an early adopter of social media such as Twitter and blogs. Carter received his BA in business administration from the University of Wisconsin.
